Established in 1985 and now enjoying a prestigious position within International Motorsport, Formula 3000 is the final step on the racing ladder before Formula 1. Recent amendments to F3000 racing means it now incorporates specifically identical cars from F3000 teams embarking on two 45 minute qualifying sessions held on the Friday before each championship race.

Formula 3000 is today clearly recognised as the official feeder formula for Formula 1 participating at each European Grand Prix as the main support race. Through its close association with Formula 1, F3000 now attracts considerable media coverage and public support and regularly features on television which also includes live coverage of both qualifying and races.

All F3000 cars are identical in specification and manufacture. Lola cars produce all chassis for the formula with Zytec and Cooper Avon similarly supplying engines and tyres. All F3000 cars contain state of the art technology with modern telemetry computer link ups to assure engineers and mechanics have constant access to data and performance records.
